Today Doug has been extremely busy taking care of administrative duties. While he was covering the paperwork, telephone, and appointment-making end of things and Seth plugged doggedly away on his college courses and taught some piano lessons, the rest of the McKinnis family were joined by Kelly Foreman and her kids to work in the ashes. We took countless photos of burned books and items for insurance inventory. We got through almost all of the G.A.Henty collection, Genevieve Foster set, Albert Marrin books, Clara Ingram Judson titles, and the Syme biographies. (Yesterday we finished the Landmark histories.) In today's photos you will see Papa Powell searching for coins, Doug holding his Bose aviation headset, and Micah holding a TeenPact CD. Thanks so much everyone for all of your help, meals, letters of encouragement, and incredible generosity.

Isaiah 43:1-2 "But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you."

Memories... :)

Here is a picture of our house before the fire. This was actually one of the photos that was found in the ashes. :)

Specific needs coming soon.

All,

I just spoke with Wendy and everyone seems in great spirits. Doug got his charred gun safe open today and it appears he may be able to salvage some of his antique firearms.

I hope that over the next few days we will get a listing of specific needs so we can start helping.

Wendy will post some of the pictures (post fire) so we can see the level of devastation.

Let's share this blogspot with our friends (esp on facebook) so we can get this to go viral.

Thanks!
