Purify my heart
Let me be as gold and precious silver
Purify my heart
Let me be as gold, pure gold

Refiner's fire
My heart's one desire
Is to be holy
Set apart for You Lord
I choose to be holy
Set apart for You my Master
Ready to do Your will

~ Brian Doerksen~

Some of you have already heard that we were burglarized on Thursday. Thieves entered our rental home while we were working at the site and stole some of the few valuable items we currently own, including Seth's laptop which he uses for his Patrick Henry College summer class, Micah's laptop, three of the cameras we had been using for inventory, and my new church shoes which were a special gift from Doug. This is the second time Seth has "lost" his computer in just over four months. We know that God has plans for us and we trust Him even when we don't understand. Interestingly that very morning, part of the entry in my journal was this prayer to the Lord:

"Thank you for taking away all of my treasured earthly possessions to do something deeper in our hearts. Don't stop, God; whatever You do - please stay at work in our lives intimately and show us your mysterious, intricate power. It so encourages my heart to see You at work in my circumstances, in my heart, in my marriage. Please keep working. Never stop softening my hard, unappreciative heart."

This last week we could tell that God was at work in our lives - so please keep lifting us up in prayer. Thank you.

Putting the rest of the plywood flooring on the joists

Seen in the center of the photo above is the hole for the staircase.

On Thursday the second story floor is completely covered.

The temporary safety barricade is to prevent unplanned falls.

The platform for the stairs gets a lift.

On Friday the stairs from the basement are put in place.

Now that there is a new floor installed, there is a new place to once again test gravity.

Kenton soars.

Seth and Micah contemplate how to get down to ground level after trapping themselves on the main floor.

You've heard of Jack be Nimble jumping over the candlestick? Well, this is Micah jumping over the garage.
