"But God, who chastens even his best-loved children, will not suffer them to become too deeply attached to the things of earth. Afflictions are sent to remind them that this world is not their rest - to wean their affections from earth, and fix them above."
~From The Basket of Flowers

On a recent trip with friends, hiking Baldy in Eagle River, Alaska

"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills,
from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord,
which made heaven and earth."

~Psalm 121:1-2

Andrew and Micah work on salvaging parts on Saturday evening. Earlier in the week Doug was almost electrocuted when he cut into a live wire with his power tool. According to the power company the power was supposedly off in that line for the last three months. Even though there was an enormous flash of sparks and a loud noise, Doug walked away uninjured for which we are very thankful. The final day of work at the site may be on Monday before the excavator arrives to begin demolition on Tuesday.

Even little muscles accomplish big jobs.

A highlight of June was a cherished and long-anticipated visit with our dear friends Tom, Pam, Anna Kate, and Mark. Pam works with TeenPact, and spent one evening of her family vacation sharing some new and exciting visions for TeenPact Alaska.
