Psalm 139

For the director of music. Of David. A psalm.
O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.

You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

Each of the older boys learned to use the compactor machine.

Micah models his new tool belt.

After returning from Kodiak on Sunday morning, we were blessed to have a visitor from Indiana - Reinhold and his family are good friends who we met two years ago when we spent a month in Winona Lake at MasterWorks Music Festival. Since he is a pilot for United Airlines he "dropped by" Anchorage for 24 hours.

All but Doug traveled to Kodiak for dental appointments this week and we were kept there longer than we had intended due to extremely foggy weather. We paid a very memorable visit to Nanny Dee while in Kodiak - she always makes us smile really big!

Of course, Wynn was thrilled at the extra time on the island because it meant that his brothers would take him fishing for dolly varden at the Buskin River. After all, what is a visit to Kodiak without being able to fish?

Marcy and Harold, the next-door neighbors who have lived by my parents for years, made time to share their precious lives with us one evening.

Roger and Duncan - a rare and talented team!

Wynn tries his hand at flattening the newly poured wall.

It was quite an experience being involved in the pouring of the concrete.

Micah holds the concrete chute, Kenton adjusts the placement of the heat tubes, and Mr. Carl reinforces the form.

These forms are ready to receive the first load of concrete.
