"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord,
plans to prosper you and not to harm you,
plans to give you hope and a future.
Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me,
and I will listen to you.
You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
I will be found by you.
" ~Jeremiah 29:11-14~
"Why must Christian keep knocking, and why doesn't the gate immediately open at the first knock? Perhaps for Christian's own sake, God is testing his heart. A student once asked a wise sage, 'How can I know God?' The sage pushed the student's head into a basin of water until he began flailing his arms in desperation. The sage, after letting him resurface, said, 'When you want God as much as your lungs wanted air, you will find Him.'
As we continue knocking at His gate, we discover for ourselves the depth of desire for God in our hearts. Do we really want Him?"
~ from the Pilgrim's Progress Devotional~

It is the cry of our hearts to follow You wholeheartedly. Where we must knock, let us knock until we see the way open before us.
